Our May 30th general auction brought out some heavy hitters in the collectable coin world!

A rare Edward VI hammered silver three pence coin sold for £2300!
Bidding started at £50 but soon turned ferocious. We were expecting to realise a sale potential of £1000 but no quarter was given – until the victor emerged as the hammered descended at £2300!
Other highlights included a Henry IV silver groat selling for £950 and a gold Henry VI quarter noble, selling for £1100.
Amazing, especially when you think I tried to buy a round of drinks at my local spoons with a very valuable groat but I was told to leave the premises.

N. B. All sold prices are hammer prices and exclude commission.
