An Africa General Service Medal 1902 with clasp ‘Kenya’; named to: 22997853 Fus L C Dorgan R IR F.
The 1st Battalion The Royal Irish Fusiliers, commanded by Lt Col G J Hamilton DSO, was deployed on counter-terrorist operations against the Mau Mau in Kenya from 30 January to 24 December 1955. The battalion had a Tactical Area of Operations (TAOR) of some 1600 square miles and suffered two fatal casualties during their operational tour.
Extremely Fine (EF) condition and contained in original card box of issue.
