WW2 Home Guard Mk II 2C Brodie Steel Helmet. Shell painted green and stamped with maker
‘BMB’ (Briggs Motor Bodies Ltd, Dagenham) to rim and dated 1941. Complete with liner made by
‘C.C.L’ (Christy & Co Ltd) and dated 1940. Chinstrap missing. Three holes drilled in rim making
this a Mk II Grade 2C mild steel austerity helmet. Note: Holes drilled in the rim near the chinstrap rivet identified the quality of the steel used in the manufacture, with more holes indicating a lesser resistance to ballistic impact.
