An 1890 Bronze Farthing Coin. Extremely fine. Obverse – Shows the laureate bust of Victoria facing left, hair in a bun (bun head). The surrounding legend reads: ‘VICTORIA D:G: BRITT:REG:F:D:’ which translates to "Victoria, by the Grace of God, Queen of the Britains, Defender of the Faith." Reverse – Shows the helmed Britannia seated facing right, holding a trident, hand resting on a shield, with the date below and the word ‘FARTHING’ above. In the background is a lighthouse to the left and ship to the right.
